William Blake
William Blake (1757–1827) was a visionary English poet, painter and printmaker, ignored in his lifetime and now seen as a genius. His mystical images of God, angels and the cosmos are unlike anything before them.
Blake's fusion of poetry and image and his private mythology made him a hero of Romanticism and the counterculture.
