Paul Klee
Paul Klee (1879–1940) was a Swiss-German modernist of extraordinary invention, who fused colour, line and music into small, poetic worlds. A Bauhaus teacher, he wrote that drawing is taking a line for a walk.
Klee's playful, deeply original visual language influenced abstraction, Surrealism and modern art teaching.
