Frederic Leighton
Frederic Leighton (1830–1896) was the most honoured British painter of the Victorian age, a master of classical beauty and polished technique. His Flaming June is an icon of Victorian art.
Leighton rose to President of the Royal Academy and was the first painter ever made a British peer.
