Fra Angelico (c. 1395–1455) was a Dominican friar and early Renaissance painter of luminous, devout altarpieces and frescoes. His serene Annunciation glows with gold, light and quiet faith.
Combining medieval devotion with Renaissance space and light, Fra Angelico was beatified by the Catholic Church centuries later.
